Auditions
Acceptance into VIP is based on the ability to match pitch, interest, eagerness to learn, and dedication to the group. Auditions are required for our main group which meets on Tuesdays, for students in grades 6 - 12. Students in grade 6 can audition to join VIP or join VIP Jr without an audition.
An audition is friendly, low-pressure, and requires no preparation; it's like a mini voice lesson. No experience is necessary. The director is committed to teaching healthy vocal technique and ensuring that all children have an enjoyable musical experience (which includes the audition).
The goal of the audition is to reveal the child's musical potential; we will do pitch-matching activities and check the vocal range (how high and low you can sing). Auditions can be individual or in small groups and take 15 minutes.
Parents should join the child at the end of the audition to talk about the program. Registration forms will be emailed after the audition.
Tuition September 2024 - May 2025
Tuition VIP (Tuesday Rehearsals):$510 GRADES 6-12, TUESDAYS 6:30 - 8:00 PM; SEPT 10, 2024 - MAY 2025. Tuition pays for weekly group instruction, individual or small group musicianship lessons with the artistic director several times a semester, and a professional accompanist at rehearsals. Tuition includes the September "Sing and Socialize" and two Winter and Spring Concerts tickets.
Tuition does not include a mandatory fundraising commitment, special events, tickets to performances not organized by VIP, workshops with guest artists, or the cost of a VIP shirt.
Tuition VIP Junior (Monday Rehearsals): $200. GRADES 4-6, MONDAYS 4:55- 5:55 PM; NO AUDITION REQUIRED; JAN - APRIL 2025.
Family discounts are available for a 2nd and 3rd child joining. Regular tuition applies to the 1st child. Discounts do not apply to early registration.
Sing and Shine: VIP at Plainfield Park District, AGES 8-11, THURSDAYS 4:45 - 5:45 PM, JAN - APRIL, 2025. Register through Park District.
Check payment: please make checks to Plainfield Area Community Chorus. PayPal payment: please add the service fee of 2.9%. ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Tuition is not prorated for late registration or missed classes.
